Kathleen Johndrow

Kathleen has been practicing social work since graduating from UConn with her MSW in 2005. The majority of her career has been spent working with adolescents and young adults dealing with a variety of concerns, in settings ranging from schools and outpatient offices to residential treatment centers. She has particular experience with anxiety, depression, autism, and the LGBTQ+ community, and enjoys working with those in the midst of life transitions.

Kathleen uses a laid back, nonjudgmental approach based on the individual presentation of each client. She may incorporate components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in treatment. If those terms are essentially meaningless to you, don’t worry! Kathleen will talk with you like a regular person, and use those approaches to help you (or your child) learn new skills to change the way thoughts and feelings impact your life.
